A good weekend in Houston can help Texas A&M baseball

The Texas A&M Aggies have had some rotten luck recently.

The team has fallen victim to a couple of upsets against Cal Poly and Texas State. On top of that, they lost their star third baseman Gavin Grahovac for the season due to season-ending shoulder surgery.

This weekend, head coach Michael Earley and his Aggies are in Houston at Daikin Park for the Astros Foundation College Classic which features a few top-tier teams like Arizona and Oklahoma State.

Texas A&M can take this as an opportunity to rebound from their last two games, which were back-to-back losses against mid-majors. This is the first time in the 2025 season that the Aggies will play power conference opponents.

It starts Friday night as they play against the Arizona Wildcats. The first pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. C.T. The Aggies’ lineup will have a tough starting pitcher to face in Collin McKinney. He has just given up one earned run in 7 ⅓ innings.

On Saturday, the Aggies will face off against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The first pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. C.T. The Texas A&M lineup will face Harrison Bodendorf on the mound. He has been a strikeout-hunter in 2025 with 13 of them in 10 innings of work.

McKinney and Bodendorf are two tough starters on two tough teams. However, wins against these two opponents in Houston can really change the mojo surrounding the Texas A&M team.

It makes for one of the more intriguing storylines in SEC baseball this weekend.
